Spring 2026
Nathan Soden
This project explored whether a faith-based digital platform could help improve Christian engagement and community among young adults outside of traditional Sunday services. Guided by Self-Determination Theory, community psychology, social identity theory and user centered design principles, an early protype of EZRA was developed. EZRA is an app designed to support personalized devotionals, church discovery,…

The modern dashboard interface has been continually redesigned to address the ongoing issues of complexity and information density. With the rapid increase in new infographics and larger screens, there is the issue of the user’s finite cognitive resources, resulting in inefficient visual processing within the critically short 2-second off-road glance to the user console. This…
SolarSPELL: TinyML for soil sensing
Access to reliable soil data can be limited in off-grid agricultural settings, making it difficult to assess soil health. This project addresses that challenge by developing a soil sensing system that uses TinyML to process data locally without internet access. The system measures temperature, moisture, phosphate levels and salinity, and connects to an Android application…
Faculty Team 4
Accessing timely assistance during emergencies can be difficult, particularly in local or immediate situations. This project addresses that challenge by developing a hyper-local mobile application designed to support rapid emergency response. The system connects users to nearby help when urgent assistance is needed. The goal is to improve response times and provide a more accessible…
Faculty Team 2
Controlling Multiple Cloud Infrastructures: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
10 Smart Fabrication: Additive Manufacturing and Evaluation of Industrial Equipment Parts
Frequent failure of high-cycle components in continuous production systems can lead to costly downtime and maintenance challenges. This project addresses that issue by working with Lallemand USA to improve the design and manufacturing of critical parts used in yeast production equipment. The team evaluates materials and production methods for components such as paddles, heater blocks…
Faculty Team 1
Hazard data in the United States is often fragmented, limiting its use for risk assessment and decision-making. This project addresses that challenge by developing Hazard-KG, a unified knowledge graph that integrates county-level hazard data from 1960 to the present. It connects information on events such as floods, wildfires and hurricanes with their impacts in a…
The Foam Compliance Corps
This project involves developing a remote-operated fire suppression system designed to detect hazardous conditions and respond to threats. The device uses smoke, heat and gas sensors to monitor environments, communicates risk through alerts and alarms, and deploys a mobile targeting system to neutralize fires while reducing risk to human responders.
Team 310
This project involves designing a wearable health monitor that detects unsafe environments and supports worker safety. The device identifies hazards such as air particulates and exposed wires, then communicates this information to a supervisor’s smart device, enabling real-time monitoring and helping ensure workers are not at risk.
07 Torque Sensing Gearbox
Measuring and validating torque in motor and gearbox systems can be inconsistent due to limited integration between hardware and data collection tools. This project addresses that challenge by working with Array Technologies to develop a system for real-time torque measurement and analysis. The team designed a mechanical mounting structure, integrated a torque sensor and created…
