This team’s project, OptimEYES, is an intelligent tool status notification system designed to enhance safety and efficiency on automated construction sites. As the industry shifts toward machine-operated tasks, operators are still required to remain nearby to verify accuracy. OptimEYES addresses this challenge by attaching directly to construction tools and monitoring operational status; such as obstacle detection, uneven terrain, and task progress. When a condition is flagged, the system wirelessly transmits an alert to a centralized receiver module, allowing operators to oversee multiple tools from a single workstation. This solution streamlines oversight while reducing the need for constant on-site supervision.
