Summary
This team is developing an object following robot to help K-12 students learn more about control, sensing and communication in robotics. More specifically, this project will educate middle and high school students by highlighting the microprocessors, sensors, supporting components, technical limitations and technical capabilities of the robot. Through use of the robot, this project will demonstrate the automatic navigation and object-tracking functionality that relies on the infrared distance scanning technology. By examining subsystems individually, the students will understand what it’s like to learn, debug, and use modern electronics. The team will demonstrate the capability of the robot utilizing its distance sensors to navigate its surrounding environment.
