Summary
This team project is a display of the STEM concept of electricity generation through means of a hydroelectric dam. The team utilized Arizona science standards to target the audience of students in grades 7–12. The team chose to use the hydroelectric dam because it is not common in the Arizona desert. A stepper motor was used to control the intake gate at the reservoir. The team used a Hall effects sensor to determine the speed in which a motor rotates, creating electricity. In addition, the team used an OLED display to interact with users and an ESP 32 to communicate through Wi-Fi.
