Summary
The SolarFlex Canopy System enhances outdoor learning and recreation by creating shaded, powered and sustainable spaces for students. Unshaded concrete and asphalt surfaces intensify heat and limit usability, while few outdoor outlets restrict functionality. The team’s motorized, solar-tracking canopy uses flexible solar film sheets to provide cooling shade and generate renewable electricity, improving comfort, sustainability and campus usability.
