Human Systems Engineering

Summary

Understanding how operators respond to errors in automated systems is important for safe and effective collaboration. This project addresses that question by examining how different types of errors influence operator reliance, compliance and complacency when working with synthetic teammates. The study analyzes behavioral responses to system performance and error conditions. The goal is to improve understanding of human interaction with automated partners and support the design of more reliable and effective human-AI systems.
