Robotics and autonomous systems

Akshaya Jeyaprakash, Nivas Piduru, Moss Barnett

Summary

Autonomous navigation systems often struggle to interpret natural language commands and identify objects in indoor environments. This project addresses that challenge by developing a mobile robot that can understand user instructions and explore spaces to locate specified items. The system uses vision-language navigation to detect objects, map their locations and present results without manual input. The goal is to improve human-robot interaction and demonstrate how autonomous systems can support efficient indoor search and mapping tasks.
