11 Lightning Mitigation Laboratory

Summary

Lightning strikes can cause damage to infrastructure, requiring costly repairs and creating safety risks during field maintenance. This project addresses that challenge by working with General Dynamics Mission Systems to develop a laboratory system that simulates lightning strikes. The system enables controlled testing of mitigation methods under repeatable conditions. The goal is to support evaluation of protective solutions and improve the reliability and effectiveness of lightning mitigation strategies before field deployment.
